Assistant Director & Instructor
Involved with the Academy since 2012, she trains students across beginner and intermediate levels and helps oversee the operational and production aspects. Charu received her initial kathak training in India at the Natya Institute of Kathak under the tutelage of late Guru Smt. Maya Rao. She has been fortunate to attend workshops and study from pioneers of kathak and continues her learning with Smt. Antara Datta and Sringar Mani Guru Smt. Anuradha Nag. Involved with classical dance since childhood, she hopes to pass on her knowledge and appreciation of the art-form to her students.
Archana has been part of the Anga Kala Kathak Academy since 2013. Her formal foray into Kathak was when she received training under the guidance of the late Pandit Chitresh Das at the Chhandam School of Dance in San Jose, California. She gets immense joy from passing on the passion and beauty of Kathak to the younger generations and started teaching at Chhandam School. Her interest for Kathak has deepened over the years under the able tutelage of Srimati Antara Datta. What began as a hobby is now a lifelong passion. She currently trains students at the beginner and intermediate level at Anga Kala Kathak Academy.
